Don’t Count Random House Out of the iPad Game

Much has been made of the unwillingness on the part of Random House, the world’s largest book publisher, to put its titles into the iBookstore. But Random House doesn’t want you to think its books are not readable on the iPad. Hence the publisher has quickly started an ad campaign, including here on eBookNewser, to make readers aware of the third-party eReader apps on which its books are available, including Kindle, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and ScrollMotion. So, your favorite Random House titles may not be appearing on a mock-wooden bookshelf, but they will be appearing on your iPad.

This is in line with our and others’ earlier predictions that third-party eReader apps might end of being more important to iPad’s success as an eReader than iBooks itself.
