Online marketplace eBay has announced a revamp of its iOS and Android apps, bringing them to version 4.0. The eBay 4.0 experience offers what the company called a more ‘customized, personalized and simplified’ way for users to buy and sell items, including a redesigned dashboard.
The new eBay home screen offers three personalized channels for buyers and sellers. The first is the ‘Activity’ feed, which displays a quick overview of one’s active bids and ‘for sale’ listings, as well as a look at their recently viewed products, ‘watched’ items and more.
Next is the ‘Shop’ feed, which presents users with multiple lists of curated and/or personalized product recommendations across multiple categories. In addition to ‘featured’ and ‘deals’ lists, user can browse category lists for topics like fashion, electronics, vehicles and collectibles, among others. Swiping to the far left of this Shop tab presents users with more options for browsing by category, in addition to the curated lists.
