Although the agency didn’t make any noise around it, PRNewser is intrigued to see that Edelman hired Sarah Lewitinn, aka “Ultragrrrl,” a downtown New York “scenester,” for lack of better term, that has received notoriety — including this Village Voice cover — for being a music industry taste-maker.
Edelman didn’t issue a release on the hire, and PRNewser hasn’t uncovered any coverage of the move after some Google searching.
Lewitinn tweeted back in mid-January, “For those asking, I’m part of the Digital Strategy team at Edelman. Doing consumer products like Heinz and @Dove. So happy. Dream job.”
She also recently tweeted, “We’re hiring at Edelman Digital. Need someone with social media/media planning experience. Entry level,” which is interesting, given that we’ve been hearing Edelman may be planning on making waves into paid media, one of the only areas of marketing services for which the agency doesn’t have a formal offering.
