Elle to Increase Trim Size

The secret? Protein shakes.

1444748643-screen-shot-2015-10-13-at-110637-amElle is putting on weight. According to WWD, starting with its March 2016 issue, the magazine will increase its trim size from eight inches by 10 7/8 inches to nine inches by 10 7/8 inches.

We know. A one inch jump doesn’t make you excited. It doesn’t make you want to text your friends with emojis that you eventually have to explain with words. But hey, it’s not really for you. The trim size increase is meant to attract more luxury ad dollars.

“It’s a statement not only about the company investing in Elle, but also really a statement about our luxury footprint,” Elle editor Robbie Myers told WWD. “Fashion is a visual medium. Magazines are certainly a visual medium. That is what we do.”
