Goodin comes to RCP from the House of Representatives, where she was a senior communications specialist in the non-partisan Office of the Chief Administrative Officer.
But before working on the Hill, Goodin worked at The Hill, as associate editor of campaigns and later as features editor. Before coming to The Hill in 2008, Goodin had been at National Journal, where she had a weekly magazine column and worked on The Hotline.
“We cast a wide net for this hire and were amazed by the depth and breadth of the applicant pool,” said RCP Washington bureau chief Carl M. Cannon in an announcement. “We think Emily’s past experience, varied skills, and ideas for the future make her an ideal fit.”
Cannon himself will get a bump when Goodin start on Dec. 1, adding executive editor of RCP parent company RealClear Media Group to his title, while retaining his current role.
