Facebook debuted Avatars in the U.S. last week, allowing users to create personalized Avatars of themselves that will be placed on stickers that can be shared in comments, Stories and more on the Facebook platform. We’ve already shown you how to create your Avatar from scratch, but what if you want to make changes to your Avatar later on? For instance, what if you change your real-world hairstyle and want to update your Avatar to match?
Our guide will show you how to change (edit) your Avatar within the Facebook mobile application.
Note: These screenshots were captured in the Facebook app on iOS.
Step 1: Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap “See More.”
Step 3: Tap “Avatars.” Note: If you frequently access Facebook’s Avatars menu, you may see the Avatars button above the “See More” menu.
Step 4: Tap the pencil icon near the top-right corner of the screen.
Step 5: Make any desired changes to your avatar.
Step 6: Tap the checkmark in the top-right corner of the screen when you’re done making changes. This will save your new look.
