Facebook's advertising sales increased 45 percent year over year in the third quarter to $4.3 billion, the Menlo Park, Calif.-based company revealed today in its earnings report.
Mobile revenue accounted for 78 percent of all ad sales, which marks a 66 percent increase when compared to how mobile versus desktop advertising broke out during the same period last year. During the earnings call late on Wednesday, the tech giant said its mobile ad revenue was $3.4 billion.
There were plenty of other numbers for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to be pleased about.
For instance, total monthly active users reached 1.55 billion in Q3, a 14 percent increase over the same period last year. The social-media platform's active users also jumped, rising 17 percent year over year to 1.01 billion users.
"We had a good quarter and got a lot done," Zuckerberg said in a statement. "We're focused on innovating and investing for the long term to serve our community and connect the entire world."
