Find deals and help restaurants with SimpleDeal on iOS

For the past year, SimpleDeal Founder & CEO James McKinney has sought to help the restaurant business break away from coupon and deal sites like Groupon, while still being able to draw in new customers with desirable bargains. Instead of restaurants signing up for a service like Groupon, which takes a cut of the profits restaurants receive, the SimpleDeal app allows restaurants to create any offer they’d like, while retaining their proceeds.

The SimpleDeal app was tested last year in Long Beach, CA and has now launched for everyone on iOS. Using the app, users point their device at a restaurant to see its menus, average cost for two guests, specials of the day or even unique deals which may only be available in the SimpleDeal app.

These deals can be coupons or discounts for food and beverages, or something a bit more unique. For example, a business could choose to name a menu item after a guest once they’ve spent a certain amount of money in the restaurant. Restaurant owners can add multiple deals to their SimpleDeal profiles, and can change these deals on a daily basis.

To help the platform grow, SimpleDeal has launched an Indiegogo campaign for the app. Funds raised through this campaign will be used to bring SimpleDeal to Android, as well as add new “user-centric” features to the platform, including the ability for consumers to be rewarded for supporting restaurants.

The SimpleDeal Indiegogo campaign has raised nearly $2,000 of its $100,000 goal. The campaign will close on May 16. Check back soon for more, or to follow SimpleDeal on AppData, our tracking platform for mobile and social apps and developers.
