You may recalling hearing Ford SYNC commercials in various tech podcasts leading up to CES 2010. SYNC enables hands-free calling, turn-by-turn navigation, 911 assist, and getting news/weather/sports inforamtion by voice command.
Ford is announcing an enhancement this week called “SYNC AppLink”. This lets you voice control SYNC-enabled apps on Android and BlackBerry phones. The first three apps that are such enabled are:
– OpenBeak: This BlackBerry app is the followon to TwitterBerry
The first car to get SYNC AppLink will be the 2011 Ford Fiesta.
