Latergy, Thomas’ new agency, will offer broadcast, web and mobile video services.
“Video certainly held its own relative to other PR and ad spends,” Thomas told PRNewser today. “Business people in general, communicators certainly are of the mindset that they can communicate effect through video. Prices have come down, and with Latergy, I want to take advantage of that. I don’t need to support infrastructure that maybe a handful of clients need.”
The agency is currently a “one man band,” he said, but will utilize a network of consultants and other executives for production and project management.
Thomas has a long career in the PR video industry. In 1994 he joined PR Newswire, and in 2002, he launched, built and served as president of MultiVu, PR Newswire’s multimedia subsidiary. He left in 2005 to become Chief Operating Officer of Medialink Worldwide, which was acquired by The Newsmarket in July 2009.
