Foxnews.com Calls It: England’s New PM Is Queen Elizabeth II

What’s wrong with this picture?

The answer is after the jump…

In case you can’t see it, the dek and lede of the Foxnews.com story says:

Queen Elizabeth accepted the invitation of Conservative Party leader David Cameron to become Britain’s new prime minister Tuesday night after Gordon Brown resigned following his failure to form a coalition government with another liberal party.

So let’s all give a jolly warm welcome to Engalnd’s England’s new Prime Minister: Her Majesty The Queen.

Ok, we can’t expect every American news organization to know the ins and outs of British parliamentary politics, but when you get the headline right and the dek and lede wrong, that is kind of unforgivable.

For the record, Cameron must accept the Queen’s invitation, something the Foxnews.com story gets correct later on.
