Mobile and social games company Game Insight has announced the launch of Cat Story on iOS. The whimsical city-builder sees players stranded on an island, tasked with rescuing their furry friends and uncovering the island’s mysteries while meeting its inhabitants.

Developed by Fly High Games, Cat Story sees players completing quests by building huts, farms and more on their new island home. Most tasks rely on either gold or food, with food being used as a kind of energy, and as a major component in crafting. For instance, food can be turned into fish, and fish can be turned into chowder, which is more valuable than its ingredients.

As players complete quests, they’ll unlock more portions of the island for exploration, and will eventually run into enemies and vermin which will highlight surrounding items in red. Players must spend some of their resources in bulk to clear these enemies from the map, or they can also spend gems, the game’s premium currency, to complete the task instantly.

Once players build a market, they can sell excess resources for gold and experience points, helping them level up faster and unlock and/or complete more quests. Certain items, including farms, can also be upgraded to produce more resources with each collection.

Cat Story is now available to download for free on iPhone and iPad. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
