Giants Run Roughshod Wins Weekly Ratings

As the Giants position themselves for another Super Bowl run, a rout of the Saints proved to be a ratings winner Sunday. The Fox game was tops for the week with an estimated 2.2 million WNYW viewers and a 11.4 rating, according to Nielsen.

Fox’s post-game, wrap-up show The OT kept enough viewers to solidify number two with 1.3 million fans and a 6.6.

The Giants also took the third slot, showing up on ESPN’s Monday Night Football (1.1 million/6.0) in the NFL’s previous week.

Not to be outdone, NBC got a piece of the New York audience with the Lions and Packers NFC North tilt in fifth place (904,000/4.6).

CBS had its first entry at number four with Big Bang Theory (961,000/4.9).

We’re not sure if the Giants’ monster numbers were a factor as the lead-in, but it was rarity for The Simpsons landing at number six (887,000/4.5).

The Fox mainstay was joined at six by another Sunday tradition, 60 Minutes (886,000/4.5).
