The U.S. Army adopted a modified version of Android to define their Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P Handheld). The he Mobile /Handheld CE development kit for the JBC-P Handheld will be released in July for third-party developers. The U.S. Army article notes something called “Open Office” for “document viewing”. It is not clear if this is a version of OpenOffice.org for Android. OpenOffice is not currently available for mobile devices like smartphones.
