Google Co-Founder Says Apps Not to Blame for Android Battery Drain. Oh Yeah?

Google co-founder says:

Larry Page: Your Android battery should last a day

He also advices not “blame your apps”. Well, he certainly isn’t talking about the first generation T-Mobile G1 (from HTC). That thing didn’t even make it until lunch during my short ownership period.

My Droid does better. But, I use Advanced Task Killer Free at least a couple of times a day to get rid of unwanted battery eating apps running in the background. I’ve actually uninstalled some marginally useful apps simply because they were so ill behaved. This, of course, is one of the joys of a multi-tasking mobile platform.

Mr. Page: I like my Droid and Nexus One a lot. Their batteries do last a reasonable amount of time. But, they can be drained pretty fast by doing popular activities like taking photos and uploading them.
