Twitter raided the Google garage to find its new industry director of automotive.
Google automotive industry director Guy Schueller joined the social network after over six years at the search-engine giant. He will report to managing director of tech, auto and telecommunications Rob Pietsch.
While at Google, Schueller co-led sales and operations teams within the U.S. automotive vertical, focusing on General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Ford Motor.
At Twitter, he will work with top automotive brands in the U.S. to drive partnerships and revenue growth, working on campaigns such as Mini USA’s “Tweet to Test Drive.”
He will be based in Detroit.
Prior to Google, Schueller spent almost two years as global automotive industry insights lead at Microsoft, following more than one decade on the agency side of the business, including with Starcom and Universal McCann.
