Hearst Corporation Drops ‘Corp.’

It's just Hearst, from now on.

In a shocking twist that no one saw coming, Hearst Corporation will from now on be known simply as “Hearst.”

Why would Hearst take such a drastic, dangerous step? You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want Hearst on that wall, you need Hearst on that wall. Hearst uses words like honor, code, loyalty. Hearst uses those words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. Hearst has neither the time nor the inclination to explain itself to a reader who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that it provides, and then questions the manner in which it provides it.

Or! As Hearst vp of communications Paul Luthringer explained, it’s just easier. “We’ve simplified our communications: As one of the nation’s largest diversified media, information and services companies with more than 360 businesses, all of our properties now reflect this trade name change. So going forward, when referring to us, simply ‘Hearst’ is correct.”
