How Internet Users in Syria Can Beat the Internet Shutdown

The Internet has been down for a couple of days in Syria, though reports are coming in that it has mostly been restored. Just in case, there is a new tool will let Syrian citizens tweet stories via telephone.

Twitter, Google and SayNow have created a tool to help Syrian voices be heard–Speak2Tweet. Users can access the service and record a tweet to be sent out over the Speak2Tweet Twitter page, and they can also listen to recordings of other tweets. You can listen to these recordings on the tool’s Twitter page.

Check it out: “Click the link in each tweet to hear a voice tweet. Call +902123391447 or +302111982716 or +390662207294 or +16504194196. Press 1 to tweet, 2 to hear tweets.”
