Instagram announced that starting Thursday, when users are @ mentioned in other users’ Stories, they will be able to share those photos or videos in their own Stories.

Users who are mentioned will receive notifications in their Instagram Direct threads with the users who mentioned them, and they will have the option of adding the content they were mentioned in to their Stories.

Tapping will bring up the Story as a sticker, which can then be scaled, rotated and positioned, as well as customized with creative tools including text and stickers.

The original poster’s username will be visible to users’ followers who see their Stories, and it will be tappable so that those profiles can be explored, as well.

Only public accounts can have their Stories shared.
