Instagram recently revealed a new activity dashboard feature, which allows users to see the average amount of time they spend on the photo- and video-sharing application each day, based on the past seven days. Users can create a daily reminder for how long they wish to spend in the app each day, and the app will alert them when/if they hit that time limit. Our guide will show you how this feature works.
Note: These screenshots were captured in the Instagram app on iOS.
Step 1: Tap the profile button in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap the three lines in the top-right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Tap “Your Activity.”
Step 4: To set a daily reminder, tap “Set Daily Reminder” under “Manage Your Time.” If you want to change your push notifications settings (so that the app will stop notifying you about specific or all in-app activities), tap “Notification Settings” under “Manage Your Time.”
Step 5: If you tapped “Set Daily Reminder,” scroll the wheels to the desired time.
Step 6: When you’ve set the wheels to the desired time, tap “Set Reminder.”
Note: If you ever want to remove or change this reminder, return to the “Your Activity” dashboard and tap the “Set Daily Reminder” option. From there, tap either “Edit Reminder” or “Cancel Reminder” on the menu that appears.
