Israel Lifts iPad Ban

Phew! Pack that iPad, travelers-to-Israel. The Israeli communications ministry has declared the iPad safe for use in Israel. Remember, we reported that the country had banned the importation of iPads due to worry over whether the iPad’s WiFi met Israeli standards, even though it meets European standards, which should mean it passes in Israel too.

According to YNet, iPad is now cleared for arrival in Israel, and all iPads previously confiscated by customs will be returned to their owners. No official Israeli iPad release has been announced, however.
