iVillage Names Yahoo!’s Meller VP/Communications

Yahoo! director of corporate communications for advertising and sales Lauren A. Meller joined iVillage as vice president of communications, where she will lead both external and internal communications for the women’s Web destination, handling all press outreach, media-relations strategy and employee communications.

Meller had been with Yahoo! for seven years, also having worked with Excite@Home and Porter Novelli. At iVillage, she will report to executive VP Jodi Kahn and NBC Universal Women & Lifestyle Entertainment Networks senior VP of communications Hilary Smith.

Kahn said:

Lauren has extraordinary digital communications experience, dating back to the early days of the Internet. Her background will be invaluable to iVillage as we map our communications strategy.

And Smith added:

Lauren is joining iVillage at a particularly exciting time, as we have incredible momentum behind our relaunch. Her deep digital experience, paired with her knowledge of both the business-to-business and consumer markets, will be key to telling iVillage’s success story in the press.
