Job Openings Rate Remains At 2.1 Percent In February

The job openings rate in the United States remained steady at 2.1 percent in February, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today in its Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS).

This is still roughly the highest rate of openings in a year but well below the norm of more than 3 percent openings.

Actual openings declined over the month by about 125,000; however, the overall decline was offset in part by increases in openings in retail and hospitality.

Turnover remained low at 3.1 percent.
