Kapi-Bara-San Kapi Crunch introduces US, Canada to popular Japanese brand

Bandai Namco Games and Sync Beatz Entertainment have announced the official launch of “Kapi-Bara-San Kapi Crunch” on iOS and Android devices. The puzzle game introduces players to Kapi-Bara-San and his friends, which have been popular characters in Japan for the past eight years. Available for free, the game’s basic match-three Challenge mode asks players to create matches of blocks to remove them from the board and earn points.

The Challenge mode is presented blitz-style, as players have one minute to earn as many points as possible. Energy stars limit the length of a single gameplay session, but these stars recharge automatically over time.

Outside of Challenge mode, players can unlock three additional modes for a one-time purchase of $0.99. This includes the Normal mode, which has players clearing specific levels of blocks, along with a Hard version of the game, with shorter time limits and faster action. Finally, the Timeless mode offers free play, with no time limits.

In association with this launch, Sync Beatz has launched a website for the characters, and Kapi-Bara-San merchandise will start rolling out to retail locations in the US. The characters have found large success in Japan, with dedicated retail stores, a Kapi-Bara-San Cafe and more than 30 licensees creating toys and other products for the brand.

Kapi-Bara-San Kapi Crunch is available to download for free on iOS and Google Play. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking platform for mobile and social apps and developers.
