BREAKING: KFI Suspends John and Ken for Whitney Houston Comments

You knew this might be coming, given the frequency with which KFI 640 AM weekday afternoon hosts Ken Chiampou and John Kobylt like to ruffle feathers. Today, officially, the pair’s incendiary, ratings-chasing ways have finally caught up with them.

From a bulletin issued this afternoon by radio industry trade magazine TALKERS:

The Orange County Register’s Gary Lycan tips TALKERS that KFI is suspending the hosts for comments about Whitney Houston

During a discussion of Houston’s passing and reported drug abuse, Kobylt said, “At some point you’re just sick of it all, and so is everybody else in the industry.  All her friends and hangers on, everybody who knew, had to deal with her.  It’s like, ‘Ah Jesus… here comes the crack ho again, what’s she gonna do?  Ah look at that, she’s doin’ handstands next to the pool. Very good crack ho…’  After while everybody’s exhausted.  And then you find out she’s dead. It’s like, ‘Really?  Took this long?’”

According to Lycan/TALKERS, John and Ken will return to air Monday February 27. In their report, there is also a statement from Kobylt.
