Heidi N. Moore has been in the journalism game for 20 years now.

She started out in the spring of 1997 as an editorial assistant at Hearst Magazines and, over the years since, has occupied a number of impressive positions including Wall Street Journal reporter, Marketplace Radio New York bureau chief and Mashable business editor.

At the beginning of this year, she joined Ladders Inc., a careers-focused website, to help expand their content offerings. Today, a big new piece, Ladders News, has launched with, among other things, a “Millennials Career Survey.” Between March 28 and April 2, the site partnered with SurveyMonkey to reach 1,024 millennials between the ages of 18 and 34. Among the findings:

  • Millennial women are more likely to be friends with their manager on social media;
  • Millennial men are more likely to think it’s acceptable for companies to expect people to answer work emails outside of business hours;
  • Millennials were the only surveyed age group to indicate that career growth is more important, when accepting a job offer, than starting salary.

Moore is working at Ladders alongside editorial director Ryan Sager, a fellow WSJ alum who came on board late last year, and a half-dozen other staff editors and writers. Check out the full slate of Ladders News launch-day content here.
