LinkedIn Adds 3 New Features for Page Admins

Employee notifications, kudos/team moments, completion meter

Notifications are limited to once every seven days LinkedIn

LinkedIn added three features to its pages Tuesday: employee notifications, kudos/team moments and a completion meter.

Senior director of product management Rishi Jobanputra detailed the professional network’s quarterly release for pages in a blog post.

Brands can now help drive engagement on their public LinkedIn posts by alerting employees as soon as new content goes live. Notifications are limited to once every seven days in order to prevent employees from being overloaded with notifications.

Jobanputra wrote, “Your employees can be your most powerful advocates, but many businesses don’t know where to begin. With employee notifications, page administrators can now alert employees of important posts, which employees can then share with their LinkedIn network. This makes it easy for your employees to share your organization’s content and amplify your messages.”

Page admins also received a new way to recognize important team moments and celebrate employees with individual mentions.

Jobanputra wrote, “With kudos and team moments, page admins can leverage a custom content format built specifically to welcome new team members, spotlight outstanding work and recognize the people behind an organization’s pivotal moments. By highlighting the people behind your brand, you reveal the human side of your organization to prospective customers and employees.”

Finally, LinkedIn released a version of its profile completion meter for pages, enabling page admins to easily determine elements that are missing from their pages

Jobanputra said complete pages generate 30% more page views per week than incomplete pages, but fewer than 5% of admins of incomplete pages address the missing elements, adding, “We’re making it easy for page admins to make the most of their page with a new personalized completion meter that identifies missing fields and calls out new features. Similar to the profile completion meter we offer members, it will help guide page admins through the process of completing and taking full advantage of their page.”

Completing a page also unlocks access to features such as content suggestions, which surfaces content trending within the exact target audience of a page.
