LinkedIn is taking steps to help employers searching for front-line workers during the coronavirus pandemic fill those spots as quickly as possible.

Vice president of product Tomer Cohen said in a blog post that the professional network is now enabling relevant sectors with urgent hiring needs to post jobs free-of-charge for the next three months.

Those sectors include hospitals, nonprofits, supermarkets, package delivery outfits and warehousing companies.

Cohen said LinkedIn members with relevant skills will discover these open positions via push notifications, real-time alerts, feed and in job search.

LinkedIn will also begin tagging critical front-line healthcare roles, such as doctors and nurses, as urgent and giving them prime real estate on its homepage and the LinkedIn Jobs homepage.

The company expanded its Recruiting for Good program last week to help screen talent for organizations on the front line, enabling them to fill urgent paid and volunteer positions. Cohen said over 100 LinkedIn employees are participating in the initiative.

LinkedIn also started a campaign with the American Red Cross of Los Angeles last week to round up volunteers to distribute free, prepared meals to the communities most impacted by the coronavirus, and Cohen said that in the first day alone, over 2,000 members of the professional network visited the volunteer application page.

He wrote, “The global battle we are fighting with this pandemic has shone a light on our local heroes—from the doctors, nurses and medical professionals caring for our sick to the growers, truckers, warehouse workers and grocery staff all of whom keep our food and other critical supplies reaching us. As they work around-the-clock on our front lines, we are committed to doing everything we can to help their respective organizations find the people they need to meet the growing demand for these critical services.”
