Korean game company Netmarble Games has released the newest version of Marvel Future Fight on iOS and Android devices. The action RPG now features characters from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television show, with the update celebrating the premiere of the show’s third season on ABC.
With this update, players will be able to recruit characters from the show for their team, including Phil Coulson, Daisy Johnson (Skye), Bobbi Morse, Lincoln Campbell, Deathlok, Sif and more. In Marvel Future Fight, players take three team members at a time into missions to defeat their enemies, and can swap between these three heroes as their playable character at any time during the stage.
As part of this update, players have access to two new story chapters and 16 missions co-written by comic writer Peter David and the television show’s creative team. The story is broken into two main parts. One sees players destroying Hydra’s arctic base, while the other sees them exploring a hidden settlement in the mountains, which serves as a sanctuary for ‘Inhumans’ (fans of the show may recall this as the ‘Afterlife’).
In addition to these new missions, players can unlock comic book-specific uniforms for some characters, which give them special abilities. Special gear items can also be created for all characters.
Outside of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. content, Marvel Future Fight has received additional updates, including an increased level cap to Level 60 for individual heroes and the player’s overall account. Three characters, Luke Cage, She-Hulk and Sister Grim, have also been upgraded to six-star skill sets.
In a statement, Seungwon Lee, president of overseas at Netmarble Games, commented on the update:
It is very rewarding to see players respond so positively to the new content we bring into our game. We’re very excited to feature Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. within our new update for Marvel Future Fight. With season three having just kicked off for the hit television show, it is a great time to have fans experience this exciting story in a new interactive way.
