Former Google Search & Analytics head Tom Phillips, who orchestrated the integration of DoubleClick into Google, will now try to orchestrate the growth of Media6Degrees, which supplies online-advertising technology that delivers targeted, customized and scalable audiences based on social connections, as he was named CEO.
Former CEO Joe Doran will remain an advisor to the board of directors and continue to develop new business opportunities for the company.
Prior to Google, Phillips was CEO of Deja.com, which he sold to Google and eBay. He also led the teams that developed ESPN.com, NBA.com, NFL.com, Ticketmaster.com and ABCNews.com at Starwave and co-founded Spy magazine.
