During his time at Bloomberg Businessweek, deputy editor Brad Wieners collected three American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) awards and was also heavily involved in the events side of the publication. A magazine industry veteran whose career has also included stints with Wired, Outside magazine, National Geographic Adventure and Men’s Journal, Wieners has now joined Rodale’s Men’s Health as executive editor.

From today’s announcement:

“Brad is a proven magazine editor and versatile writer with 25 years of journalistic experience,” said Men’s Health editor in chief Matt Bean. “His various accomplishments and zeal for adventure dovetail well with our new ‘out there in the world’ ethos, as we bring our readers to the front lines of the issues most relevant to men.”

Also joining Men’s Health this summer: senior art director Michael Solita, previously an aret director with Fortune magazine; online style, grooming and gear editor John Lonsdale; and online assistant editor, products Danielle Zickl. Also separately promoted to the position of deputy editor of cross-platform content is Ben Court.

By the way, if you’re not overly familiar with Men’s Health, that “Wild Sex!” cover line above is not unusual. The magazine has over the recent years documented everything from the keys to “Wild Vacation Sex” to how a woman’s fondness for Thai food and ice cream may suggest responsive behavior in the bedroom.
