We’re seeing stronger than usual growth for mobile apps that connect smartphones to Facebook this week, with the three big names gathering about a million new daily active users on this week’s AppData list of quickly growing Facebook apps.
Facebook for iPhone, Facebook for BlackBerry and Mobile generally do post gains each week, but it’s fairly rare to see all three appear on our DAU list. Further, their growth has been slowly but steadily improving, suggesting that more smartphone users are making Facebook use a regular habit.
Here’s the full list of 20 apps:
|3.||Facebook for iPhone||16,107,039||+541,264||+3.48|
|5.||Friends Emotions [Emociones de Amigos]||547,017||+237,348||+76.65|
|6.||Facebook for BlackBerry® smartphones||9,430,026||+231,397||+2.52|
|10.||Especially for You||235,850||+146,177||+163.01|
|17.||Horoscope du Jour||53,864||+37,444||+228.04|
Static FBML, as always, has picked up a lot of users; it’s an in-house Facebook app for Pages. It’s followed by Hotel City, the successful new Electronic Arts hotel management title that we cover with the other games on our Inside Social Games list.
Translations appears again due to a reporting error. Friends Emotions is the next legitimate app to show up; it’s a Spanish-language friend quiz that has been making strong gains with its core mechanic of posting to user’s walls when they answer questions about how they feel about their friends.
The only other app of note is Especially for You, an older AppBank gifting app that has become that developer’s primary growth driver. As feel-good apps go, this one is a winner; users gift each other with pretty pictures of flowers, often inspired by a holiday.
