Social game developer Mojiworks debuted cooking game Ready Chef Go! Exclusively on Snapchat’s Snap Games platform, and Snapchatters have indeed gone.
Snap Inc. and Mojiworks said Tuesday that over 500 million in-game orders have been served since the game debuted Dec. 19.
Ready Chef Go! enables friends on the messaging application to play together and try to outcook other teams of Snapchatters in quick rounds of up to 60 seconds, and they can add upgrades and ad-driven boosts to get ahead.
The game currently features six restaurant modes, available at different times of the day, and the two companies said in a release, “Their short development cycles allow a lot of scope for seasonal modes and spontaneous in-game events,” adding that Mojiworks will add new modes, progression elements and friend-oriented perks early this year.
With the debut of Ready Chef Go!, Mojiworks became the first third-party developer to roll out a game featuring 3D Bitmojis.
The Snap Games platform debuted last April with original titles and games from developers.
Snap Inc. head of games partnerships John Imah said in the release, “Our focus has always been on serving our community with fantastic gaming experiences that you can share with your friends, and Ready Chef Go! is a great addition to our lineup. It’s fair to say that it has been a hit so far with Snapchatters, and Mojiworks has proven that it was the perfect partner to make the first third-party game involving 3D Bitmoji. We’re really looking forward to developing this partnership going forward.”
Mojiworks CEO Matthew Wiggins added, “We think the best place for games is where your friends are, so it’s a joy to make Ready Chef Go! for Snapchat. The Snap Games platform features enabled us to create a wonderfully ‘friend-y’ feeling game with a generous pinch of Bitmoji charm. We’re thrilled that it has been so well received and loved by players, and we’re excited to forge ahead with the fantastic team at Snap Games on this and future projects.”
