On Sunday, despite quite a bit of on-and-off rain falling throughout the entire day, More and Fitness magazines hosted their 7th annual half-marathon in Central Park. (We previously spoke to Fitness‘ editor in chief Betty Wong, pictured, about the event.) Over 6,000 women braved the elements to take part in the half-marathon, hosted by an umbrella-shielded Kristin Davis.
Said Wong of the race:
Races like today are character-building. In spite of the crazy weather, all of us came out, we ran, and we had a great time.
The first woman to cross the finish line was AZ resident Sally Meyerhoff, who set a new event record time of one hour, 14 minutes, and 40 seconds. We spent Sunday eating lemon bars and developing a leg cramp from walking to the remote and back to the couch, so a heartfelt and awe-inspired congratulations is due for Meyerhoff and all the other participants.
More pictures from the event appear after the jump.
Racin’ in the rain.
