Social marketing firm Unmetric reported that the Sabres were tops in the league in Facebook and Instagram growth for the month, as well as Facebook engagement, while the Golden Knights led Twitter growth and engagement on Twitter and Instagram.
Unmetric examined its cross-channel reports for all 31 NHL teams from Nov. 1 through 30, and it also found that:
- The Pittsburgh Penguins wrestled the Instagram audience size crown away from the Chicago Blackhawks, but the Blackhawks maintained their hold on Facebook and Twitter.
- The Tampa Bay Lightning were the most prolific posters on Facebook, while the top tweeters were the Montreal Canadiens and Instagram was paced by the Sabres.
- The Sabres also tallied the most likes on Facebook and Twitter, while Instagrammers gave their hearts to the New York Rangers.
- The Edmonton Oilers generated the most comments on Facebook, while the Calgary Flames did so on Twitter and the Penguins on Instagram.
