MySpace Adds Google Buzz Button

MySpace is feeling the buzz, adding a Google Buzz button so that users can share videos across the social-networking spectrum. The Google Buzz button joins the ability for MySpace users to share content across Facebook, TweetMeme, and Digg.

Vice president of video and entertainment Jason Kirk posted on the MySpace Blog:

In support of our goal to continuously provide MySpace users with new ways to discover and share the best of pop culture, we’re adding a Google Buzz button to help people share their favorite MySpace videos across a variety of social mediums. As with MySpace, Google Buzz represents an active community that is already sharing and discussing interesting content on the Web.

Beginning this week, when watching a MySpace video, our users will find the option to select Google Buzz, as well as Facebook, TweetMeme, and Digg, providing more ways than ever before to experience videos both on and off MySpace. Users can also continue to post videos on their profile, share it in their activity stream, save to a Favorites list, and offer viewer ratings to keep their MySpace community updated on the hottest videos around.

We know that, more than anything else, MySpace users want to be entertained through discovery. The integration of social channels like Google Buzz, along with new and exciting videos from some of the most popular TV shows today, allow us to continue delivering the entertainment our audience enjoys most. With that, I’m headed to do some watching, commenting, and sharing of my own!
