New VH1 Programming to Target Women

VH1 plans to debut a slate of new programming that will target women ages 25 to 35. Tom Calderone, president of VH1 told the Wall Street Journal that “there was a fatigue level” with some of the network’s existing programming (it all went downhill after Pop-Up Video was canceled if you ask me). So the station has decided to introduce shows including Mob Wives (*groan*) and Single Ladies, a comedy from Queen Latifah’s production company (*maybe*).

Women’s tastes in TV seem to be in flux with traditional programming taking a slide in the ratings and the slow demise of the daytime soap.
