Nielsen Social Content Ratings, Week of June 19: 2017 BET Awards in a Landslide

Baseball dominated the sports chart for the week

The 2017 BET Awards dominated the week of June 19 in the Nielsen Social Content Ratings, totaling 10.497 million interactions across Facebook and Twitter while no other TV series, special or sports event broke 1 million.

The awards show was distantly trailed by Starz’s Power, with 399 million total interactions, and NBC’s America’s Got Talent (330,000).

Baseball dominated the sports chart, with seven Major League Baseball games and one College World Series clash accounting for eight of the 10 entries.

The June 20 visit by the New York Mets to the Los Angeles Dodgers on ESPN and ESPN Deportes led with 235,000 total interactions across Facebook and Twitter, followed by MLB Network’s presentation of Sunday’s Texas Rangers at New York Yankees contest (214,000).

The only two non-baseball events to crack the list were the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup soccer match between Mexico and Russia, on Fox and Telemundo, which placed third with 209,000 interactions; and Fox’s and FS1’s airing of NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup Series: Toyota—Save Mart 350 Sunday, in fifth place with 190,000 total interactions.
