Observer Taps Lee Siegel for Business and Culture Column

Author and cultural critic Lee Siegel will be writing a column in the New York Observer, the paper announced today. He starts contributing in May.

Big moves from the Observer lately. The paper recently relaunched its “Media Mob” blog, and added a dedicated art section to both the print and online editions.

On the other side of the revolving door, The Business Insider recently poached Joe Pompeo from the paper.

Siegel wrote about television, art, books, and other stuff for various publications, including The New Republic, Slate, The Nation, The New Yorker, and The New York Times. He has also written three books — Falling Upwards: Essays in Defense of the Imagination, Not Remotely Controlled: Notes on Television and Against the Machine: Being Human in the Age of the Electronic Mob.
