Overdrive Updates its iOS, Android Apps

Overdrive pushed out a new update for its Media Console apps today, and the update brings some new features with a bunch of bug fixes.

The Android app got a couple tweaks that let download Epub eBooks from your library and open them faster. You can also now control the various power saving features of Android from inside the app which means you won’t have to worry about the screen going dim while you’re reading  or the gadget going to sleep in the middle of an audiobook.

The OverDrive Media Console for iPhone/iPad got a couple neat improvements, too. it now has a night mode and a sepia background option, as well as a screen lock (so you don’t have t0 worry about the text turning upside down when the ipad does). the iOS app also  now has more font settings and a new in-app search function. The new search function will help you find more sources of eBooks without having to leave the app.

overdirve is one of the world’s largest provider of digital library services, and you can read eBooks from partner libraries, on Android, iOS, Blackberry, OSX, and Windows.
