Call it overseas overparenting. Business-to-consumer mag behemoth Meredith Corp. has announced that two of its titles, Parents and American Baby, are syndicating their parenting tips and advice to local magazines in Russia and the Philippines.
Filipino parenting guide Smart Parenting (here’s the website) will supplement its own material with Meredith’s baby-related content, and Moscow-based Children, which recently launched, will do likewise.
“These agreements, coupled with our other relationships for Parents in countries as diverse as Brazil, China and Saudi Arabia, demonstrate the universal appeal of Meredith’s parenthood brands and our deep knowledge of the parenthood category in particular,” said Meredith chief development officer John Zieser in a statement.
Apparently American Baby isn’t as parochial as its title suggests, which is good. We’ve always envisioned American babies more as global citizens anyway.
