Penguin Releases ‘Ladybug Girl’ Series As App

Penguin is releasing an app version of the Ladybug Girl children’s book series in digital form this week.

The app an is interactive book and game designed around David Soman and Jacky Davis’ book series. The app includes animated reading narrated by Lindsay Frost, dress up games and the ability to share dress up outfits via email and social networks. The app will be available in iTunes and in the Android Market on Tuesday.

Penguin has been making their mark this year by creating interactive eBook apps for books. The company recently released app versions of Judy Schachner‘s Skippyjon Jones books, as well as apps based on the Me Books series of children’s books.

They are also the publisher behind Jack Kerouac‘s On the Road app and Wreck This App, the digital version of Keri Smith’s bestselling Wreck This Journal and a new app based on Ayn Rand‘s Atlas Shrugged.
