PepsiCo Veteran Frank Cooper Named CMO of BuzzFeed

He's BuzzFeed's first CMO.

BuzzFeed has named Frank Cooper chief marketing and chief creative officer. He’s BuzzFeed’s first CMO.

Cooper comes to BuzzFeed from PepsiCo, where he served as CMO of global consumer engagement for the past five years. He had been with PepsiCo since 2003.

Prior to his time at PepsiCo, Cooper held executive roles at AOL and Def Jam Records.

“Our company is evolving from a growing U.S. website to a global media company with massive scale,” said BuzzFeed’s president, Greg Coleman, in an announcement. “That transition, communicating the effectiveness of our advertising product, the marriage of data and branded content, and the task of building an international brand could only be handled by one of the best in the business.”

Cooper will begin his new role later this month. He’ll report to Coleman.
