Pinterest: Here’s How to Share a Pin

Follow this guide to share a Pin with other users

While browsing Pinterest, have you ever seen a Pin you think a friend or family member would like to see? Did you know Pinterest allows you to share Pins with others both inside and outside of the application? Our guide will show you how.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Pinterest app on iOS.

Step 1: Tap and hold on the Pin you’d like to send, so buttons appear (as in the image below).

Step 2: Without lifting your finger, slide your finger up to the “Send” button to highlight it (it will turn red). Lift your finger to select it.

Step 3: From here, you have multiple options. If you want to share the Pin through another app, or through an email or text message, tap on one of the app icons (or tap “More apps” if you don’t see the app you want). If you wish to send the Pin to one or more of your Pinterest contacts, either tap on their profile picture(s) in the selection of contacts that appears (you can swipe to see more), or tap the magnifying glass to search for contacts manually.

Note: The following steps will show you how to send a Pin to one or more contacts within the Pinterest app.

Step 4 (optional): If you need to search for a recipient, first tap on the magnifying glass (referenced in Step 3 above), and then type their name in the search box. Tap the user’s name in the search results to add them as a recipient. Note: You can send a Pin to more than one user at the same time, so select as many recipients as you’d like.

Step 5 (only necessary if you completed Step 4): When you’re finished selecting recipients, tap “Done.”

Step 6 (optional): If you’d like, tap “Add a message!” to type a message that will be sent alongside your Pin.

Step 7: Tap “Send” to send the Pin (and your message, if you wrote one) to your selected recipient(s).
