POLL: Is Facebook Still A Startup?

Some people still call Facebook a startup. At what point does that label no longer fit?

Some people are still calling Facebook a startup. Do you agree with that label?

At some point, the category of startup no longer fits. Facebook has been in business for seven years, and this year it’s on track to double the $2 billion in revenues the company registered in 2010. More than 2.5 million websites use the social network’s plugins and every day 10,000 more sites add the integration.

So do those numbers mean Facebook isn’t a startup?

Expanding the definition to mean describe a company that’s currently defining a space, like our friends at The Next Web are saying, that makes Facebook a startup. Perhaps that label holds the most importance for venture capitalists, but not so much for others.
