Nadal ‘Fucsovics’ His Media Critics

Wake up and smell the ATP rankings, says the Spaniard.

New York Post sports columnist Mark Cannizzaro was at Rafael Nadal’s Wednesday U.S. Open post-game press conference. His report is headlined “Rafael Nadal After Win: Media Treats Me Like I’m ‘No. 200’ in the World,” based on these comments:

“It seems like I am No. 200 in every press conference. I am not so bad. After I arrive here with the victory, I come back to the locker room [hearing people] saying how bad I am. Every day.”

Which for us begs the question – who is actually currently ranked #200 on the Men’s ATP hit parade?

Meet Marton Fucsovics. We’re guessing that given the chance, the Hungarian #200 would gladly trade his qualifying round match results and endorsement prospects with those of the burnished #8.
