Roll Call: MWW Group, F/W/V, Burrell, and More

More staff changes at MWW Group. Brett White has been promoted to VP in the Dallas office. He joined the firm in 2006 and has worked on the Samsung Mobile and Mercury Insurance clients, to name a couple. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in broadcast news, including evening broadcasts in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

French/West/Vaughan is partnering with Stella Stolper, former SVP of talent and creative development at VH1, and Brian Sher, CEO of Category 5 Entertainment and partner (with Kelsey Grammer) in Grammnet Productions, to open a Los Angeles office. The new office will focus on product placement opportunities and work with Stolper and Sher on their projects. This is F/W/V’s fifth office.

Burrell Communications has hired four new execs. Robert Clifton joins the firm again, this time as VP, creative director, working mostly with Toyota and McDonald’s.

He most recently held that title at Campbell Mithun. Karen McDowell joins as VP, group account director working with the P&G brands Pantene, Crest and Clairol Professional. She was previously director of comms and marketing at DentaQuest. Maria Moffittalso joins as VP, group account director, working on the Olay, CoverGirl, My Black Is Beautiful, and My Home Made Beautiful accounts. She was previously principal at LattimerMoffitt Communications. And Sharon Ali joins in a newly created position, account director on the General Mills team working on the Grands!, Yoplait, and Feeding Dreams initiative. She was previously director of merchandising solutions at PepsiCo division, Quaker Foods and Beverages. Burrell was recently appointed African American AOR for Comcast and SuperValu.

Andrew Kirk has been promoted to MD of Edelman’s Hong Kong and Taiwan offices. He has 12 years of experience working in Asia, and joined the firm in 2009. Since then, Kirk has worked to build the corporate practice as well as the crisis, issues management, and training sides of the business. He replaces Damian Coory, who will wrap up his full-time position there in mid-May.

Laura Savini, VP of marketing and comms for WLIW21, has resigned from her post to launch her own firm Untamed Hair Productions & Consulting. She will remain with the station as an on-air host.
