Roll Call: Walmart Exec Joins H+K, Groupon Exec Joins Weber, and More

George Shelton has been named SVP at Hill + Knowlton Strategies, leading the reputation management and corporate practice starting February 15. Shelton was previously senior director for insights, advocacy, and outreach for Walmart, a role focused on the company’s commercial goals and public policy programs. In this new role, he’ll be based in Austin and focused on CSR, messaging, reputation management, and media outreach.

Brad Williams, previously the global comms VP for Groupon, has joined Weber Shandwick as head of the North American technology practice. He’ll be based in Sunnyvale, CA and report to Heidi Sinclair, president of the global tech group. Williams also has experience working with eBay, Yahoo!, and VeriSign. He stepped down from his post at Groupon in August 2011.

PepsiCo’s global social media director, Bonin Bough, is heading to Kraft Foods. Ad Age reports that Bough will take a lead consumer engagement role, though it’s unclear as yet where he will be working as the company is in the process of splitting off its snack foods business. Kraft Foods VP of global media, Mark Stewart already announced his departure from the company. Bough joined Pepsi in 2008.

AllTwitter and Pando Daily report that Twitter is on the hunt for a new VP of communications. Twitter has hired executive search firm Russell Reynolds to handle the job. Sean Garrett, the previous VP of comms, joined the company in February 2010 and announced his departure November 8, 2011.

Cleantech firms Antenna Group and Greenpoint PR have partnered. Together, San Francisco-based Antenna Group and London-based Greenpoint now expand their reach across North America and Europe. The firms specialize in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and other areas of green energy and technology.

Emanate has promoted Blair Meisels to director of planning and insights, a role that will have her working across the firm’s accounts. Meisels joined the firm in 2008. Prior to Emanate, she worked in marketing and advertising at companies including Ogilvy & Mather and Every Day with Rachael Ray.
