Season Two of Netflix’s Stranger Things Is Lighting Up Twitter

There have been more than 3.7 million tweets about Stranger Things since last Friday

The debut of the second season of Netflix’s Stranger Things led to some strange things on Twitter.

The social network said in an email to Social Pro Daily that there have been more than 3.7 million tweets about Stranger Things since its second-season premiere last Friday at 12:01 a.m. ET, making it 2017’s most-tweeted-about streaming show during its opening weekend.

The hour with the most activity on Twitter was Friday at 11 a.m. ET.

Twitter said the most-tweeted-about characters were:

  1. Eleven
  2. Will
  3. Steve
  4. Hopper
  5. Dustin

The most-used emojis during tweets about the show were:

  1. ?
  2. ?
  3. ?
  4. ?
  5. ?

As for the cast, follower numbers have skyrocketed, with Twitter saying that Joe Keery rose to 238,792 followers from 106,146; David Harbour to 243,747 from 180, 580; and Sadie Sink to 42,493 from 13,471.

Finally, Twitter shared this exchange between Harbour and a fan, in which he promised her that he would take her senior photos with her if she reached 25,000 retweets. She hit that mark, and Harbour told her to direct-message him.
