The company introduced a Facebook aplication that allows companies to add careers sections to their pages on the social network.
Hiring managers can maintain and update job openings and postings on the social network, as well as having access to SmartRecruiters’ free recruiting software, which helps them to track each applicant throughout the process.
The software also includes analytics from its recommendation engine, which aids managers in deciding which social media or listings websites to use in promoting their openings.
From the job seekers’ perspective, Facebook users can share, refer, apply, and comment on available positions.
The Facebook app from SmartRecruiters joins a crowded field, as other jobs tools that have debuted on the social network in recent months include:
- BranchOut encourages Facebook users to network with each other and share job opportunities and recommendations;
- BeKnown, from job-search giant Monster Worldwide, targets both sides of the hiring process, offering job seekers the ability to create professional networks and use Monster’s social referral program, job search tools, and profiles, while providing employers with recruitment campaigns, engagement opportunities, and networks of their own; and
- Career Notify, a free recruitment and head-hunter service that sends email notifications to users when their friends and contacts accept new jobs, are promoted, or resign their positions.
SmartRecruiters Founder and Chief Executive Officer Jerome Ternynck said in a press release:
Recruiting has always been a social activity. With this new Facebook app, as well as our seamless integration with LinkedIn and Twitter, we are bringing recruiting back to its roots. Within seconds and a few simple clicks, you can post jobs to your network, keep track of candidates, and get applicants who are a strong cultural and attitude fit — because they are coming from your own network of networks.
Readers, which job searching tools have you used on Facebook, from either the employer or employee side?
